About Me

I'm a man with a dream. Simple as that. I'm not a bigshot and I'm not known. I've never been to any college or even a school for writing or anything that I'm pursuing. I know writing though and it's something I've done all my life. I live, breathe, thrive, and have a great passion for writing! It's a part of me and in many ways is my life. No I'm not published though I'm trying. My fave genre easily is Horror! I love it. I once said I eat, sleep, live, breathe, and crave horror. It's a fact. I write it more than anything however I've written many genres and have written short stories in all the main genres. I love writing it's me. That dream I have is simple. Become a published author. Make enough money to live doing it...doing what I love for a living. After all what can one want more than to live doing what they love to do. I've already written and am in the formatting stages of my first novel. I titled it Cry and it's what else. A horror novel. It's very dark and I believe something that will revolutionize the genre should I ever get the chance to someday have it published. Outside of my writing, I live a pretty simple life. I work as a laborer at Zachary Construction Corporation. You have to make money somewhere while you pursue your dreams don't you. Yeah you could say I've made a little progress since I started although I'd love to do what I want to do for a living. I'd say I'm on the doorstep of endless possiblilty and merely waiting for my chance to step through and live my dream as an author of my own novels, short stories, comic books even. I look at life as optimisticly as possible though at times it's quite hard to do for anyone. I'm someone with an amazing vision and huge dreams. When I'm not writing I'm drawing, reading, gaming, mostly though just fighting to realize my dreams. Actually most of my free time is spent writing.

ON A RANDOM NOTE: My favorite places to eat at are Diners. I love going to diners most preferably at about 2 in the morning. That is the best time to be at any diner however I love them all regardless of the time mostly due to the atmosphere. I just love it in diners.

I'm off to eat at one right about now! Cheers! =)

UPDATE: I started up Grieve Films which is now being run by myself and some friends.

SOME OTHER INFO YOU NEED TO KNOW: I am presently looking for a publisher for my extremely dark horror novel titled CRY. If you need more info feel free to call my cell phone however if I don't pick up at first then leave a message please. Make sure you state your name, publishing company, and why you are interested in publishing as well as a number I can call you back at please. I don't generally pick up on numbers I don't know at first. If for some reason you can not reach me there feel free to send me an e-mail and we'll discuss more there. I am keeping Cry pretty well kept under wraps due to the fact that it is my masterpiece horror wise and I really don't want the wrong person to get their hands on it. So you know I posted the 1st chapter to Cry for any publisher and Impnowster to view. Enjoy!

I thank you all again for your continued support and all the contact information to my cell phone and e-mail address can be found in the Contact area of my profile.

Cheers! =)

Interests

Activities: Diners...their great places to hang.

Influences: Asian horror, particuarly Japanese horror as it's some of the darkest, most haunting stuff I've ever read, watched, or played. Depends on if your gaming, watching a movie or reading. Some of my fave writers: Stephen King J.R.R. Tolkien Neil Gaiman Frank Miller Stan Lee Leigh Whannell Some of my fave directors: James Wan Quentin Tarantino Robert Rodriguez Takashi Miike Takashi Shimizu Frank Miller Steven Spielberg Christoph e Gans Darren Lynn Bouseman Kevin Smith The main thing though is I find the most inspiration in imagination and also everything I see, hear, just encounter in life. I have a never ending flow of story ideas flying through my mind all the time. So yeah I just find influence in everything. A lot of times such as when mapping out a scene for a short film project or even when writing I see things playing out in my mind as though they were happening right where I was in the middle of everyone. I can visualize something and know what I want right there down to the tiniest detail. When writing I see it all play out as though a long movie happening right there as well. I can hear the music and everything. Everything I see in either case is very vivid. So much so that if I have a scene with cold rain pouring down it's as though that's really happening and I can feel it, smell it, taste it. You could say I have quite a vivid and very wonderful imagination!

though we can't be in each others shoes;
i prefer boots, but we can welcome each others thoughts. having an open mind is insightful which leads us on in thought about the stories we create; and while we read we can be in our characters point of view; but i've noticed we put ourselves in the characters we create
from our own creativity. reading is fundamental but writeing is mostly mental.

i think for myself, but with thoughts
most favorable to others as yourself it
was a pleasant surprise this morning to see that you had spent at least an hour
considering what i have to offer the world and am permanently indebted to you
for your generous replys to the thoughts i have to offer for your consideration. i admit i can't use adjectives, pronouns, adverbs, compound sentences and phrases like you ; or even story line; but what i can do is to offer a perspective on life for you to consider and take to mind and heart
for the increase in your own well being.
thanks dude, "Samuri of Literature"

WOW. I happened to notice on your audio that you have "Room of Angel" that is a favorite music composition of mine. I first heard it from one of the Silent Hill Games. I am a huge Silent Hill Fan.

You are a really cool guy.
Dustin - 10/24/2009
P.S.-Why thank you and you seem to be a really cool girl!
Dustin - 10/24/2009
HAHA! Yeah...well I am a HUGE SILENT HILL FAN ALSO! The game you first heard it from was Silent Hill 4 as that was what it was originally created for and I agree, definetly a fav music composition of mine too lol.

Ah, interesting chapter. I really liked the bathroom imagery when Sy is being pulled into the mirror. Very nice; creepy. :)

Interesting usage of the two phones...I find myself wondering what the relevence will be later. I guess I have to keep reading! XD

The only thing that kinda bugged me was the excessive use of exclaimation points, but they've always bothered me, lol. I prefer not to use them at all, really, but I'm not the one writing the story now, am I?

Keep it up. I can't wait to read the next part. :)

Why thank you for your opinion and you should know this one will start less shocking than the first obviously but it will grow into something far worse than the first I believe and I think it will be far more twisted...just in a different way.

Thank you so much for your opinions! :)

I've been waiting way too long for this story to finally be. :D

It's good so far. I like the new touch on the narration; it seems much more personal than before.

Yay, the end had me all ready to go on another wild ride. :)

we all have hidden talent that forces itself to be revealed from its own need.
thanks for your time. life is good inspite of the environment outside your own head.

Thought I should let you know-episode five is up:)
Sort of gone for a fresh start.
Laurie - 08/16/2009
Thanks for your feedback, it is, as always, appreciated:)

The story will only continue to get darker as I write it, this is just a taste of what's to come. My break from writing gave me a chance to probe deeper into the psychology of fear, of what is scary, and what's just senseless gore. I've learnt a lot about human darkness and how it can be used in writing.

To me, horror is something I feel slightly uncomfortable reading or watching. If it unsettles me, or alarm bells ring out in my head saying "that's not right!" then the product has done it's job. I'll make sure to let you know when other stories are up:)

Thanks again
-Laurie
