I was born into music. There was never a time in my life when I didn't relate myself to music. When I was a baby, my mother took me to church every sunday and put me in a basket next to the piano she played, and by the time I was old enough to talk, I was old enough to sing as well. But I've had barely any musical influence in my life except the rare opportunity to play my mom's piano when I'd visit her for a month during summer vacation. But that was enough for me to learn it well by ear and now it's my best instrument. I try to tell myself not to put any piano in every new song I write, but I always fail to resist temptation.
